Tour Della Citta

Verona used to be called "Citta di Dipinti," or the "City of Paintings." It's a fitting title because as we spent the day walking around the city, most buildings had beautiful murals painted on the sides up them, from top to bottom. As an artsy person, this was really cool to me. The neatest mural was in the piazza (see above).

We got the official tour of Verona today. Thank you Martin! What a gem.

The city is unlike anything I've ever seen before. Like most everything else, it's better to see the place in person. The streets are cobblestone and there is hardly anything "commercial" about the city. Even the commercial stores and franchises are tucked away in old buildings. Thank goodness I've yet to see a McDonalds. That would ruin it. I like the comfy home-y feel of the town.

We got shots of coffee. You read correctly- shots. There's no Starbucks here, so I'm re-adjusting to life without coffee and on the off chance I do drink some cafe, It is more like a tiny shot of expresso. It's making the jet-lag a little difficult. But I suppose it's a healthy adjustment!

After we walked the town we all went back to the residence and hung out in Patrick and Chris' room for the next few hours. It was great to have the whole group hang out and get to know each other.

Everyone in the group seems really neat. We all seem to mesh in some way or another. Each person brings a different dynamic to the table and it seems to work for us.

...Ciao!
